The Pensions Trust Wins 'Long Standing Partnership' Award at PATH Annual Awards

Issued on: 13 January 2011

The Pensions Trust, one of the leading multi-employer occupational pension funds in the UK for the third sector, were invited to PATH’s (Positive Action Training in Housing) annual award ceremony where they were presented with the Long Standing Partnership Award. Lisa Brailsford, HR Manager at The Pensions Trust, accepted the award on behalf of the Trust.

Based in Chapeltown in North East Leeds, PATH’s purpose is to facilitate and increase employment opportunities for black and minority ethnic groups.

The Pensions Trust started working with PATH in 2004 and since then has continuously offered training placements to PATH applicants, subject to them passing a selection exercise and competency based interview.

The Pensions Trust has taken on 11 trainees during five and a half years of working with PATH and eight trainees secured permanent positions with the Trust. Of the eight that took up permanent positions, seven are still employed by The Pensions Trust today. Additionally, over half have secured internal transfers and promotions since working for the Trust permanently.

Stephen Nichols, Chief Executive of The Pensions Trust said: ‘We are delighted to accept this award from PATH. The Pensions Trust is committed to diversity and we plan to continue working with them in the future to continue developing employment successes of PATH trainees here at The Pensions Trust.’
