The Pensions Trust Launches New DC Website for The Flexible Retirement Plan

Issued on: 23 September 2011

• Developed as an interactive and informative tool for members, prospective members and employers

The Pensions Trust, one of the leading occupational pension funds in the UK for the Third Sector, announces the launch of a new DC website for the Flexible Retirement Plan. The new DC website was launched on 16 September 2011 and is now available to the Flexible Retirement Plan’s 5,700 members and employers.

The new website follows the success of the Social Housing Pension Scheme (SHPS) DC website which was launched in September 2010. It provides web only administration for the Flexible Retirement Plan, and interactive and informative tools for members, prospective members and employers. It also includes information on the Plan, the options available within it, calculators, animations and instructions for members and employers regarding the DC membership journey. In addition, it also includes links to all the relevant forms and to other sources of DC education material provided by organisations such as The Pensions Regulator.

Logan Anderson, Head of Customer Relations at The Pensions Trust, said: “We were really pleased with the response to the SHPS DC website which received over 1,200 hits in the first month.  Following on from this, the new DC website for the Flexible Retirement Plan means that members and employers now have access to a much wider range of tools and services which will help them manage and understand their pension more effectively. The Plan currently has over 5,700 members and employers, and we expect this number to continue growing, especially with the recent introduction of the Diversified Ethical Fund into the Plan.

The development of this website continues to reflect our commitment to members to provide the highest level of expertise and support to both existing and future scheme members. We also hope the website will have an educational element by offering greater information about pensions and retirement.”
