The Pensions Trust, one of the leading occupational pension funds in the UK for the Third Sector, is pleased to welcome two new Directors to its Trustee Board.
Peter Boyd joins as an Employer Nominated Director and Trevor Peel joins as Member Nominated Director. Joe Robertson has also been re-elected as a Member Nominated Director. These appointments follow the retirement of Lynda Howe (Deputy Chair) and Bryan Clark (Member Nominated Director) after a combined service of 11 years.
Sarah Smart will be carrying on in her role as Independent Chair and Clare Smith has been elected as Deputy Chair.
Stephen Nichols, Chief Executive of The Pensions Trust, said: ‘The appointment of Peter Boyd, Trevor Peel and
re-appointment of Joe Robertson to the Board, will help us drive our business forward and maintain our aim of making membership worthwhile. They will be working alongside existing Board members to ensure we continue to offer relevant, worthwhile pension schemes to our members. Additionally, we are sad to see both Lynda Howe and Bryan Clark leave us and would like to thank them for their contributions, they will be missed.’
Biographies of new Board Members:
•Peter Boyd is currently a Director Trustee of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group Pension Fund, and a retired Bank Manager with over 30 years experience in finance with a leading clearing bank. Peter is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland (MCIBS).
• Trevor Peel currently Chair’s an NHS body (North East Strategic Health Authority) and the Board of Carr-Gomm, a national charity and housing association (now part of the Sanctuary Group). Trevor’s expertise is in management, especially financial management in the private and public sectors. A nurse by profession, Trevor has served as National Treasurer of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and as a member of the RCN Pension Committee and RCN Investment Committee.
• Joe Robertson has been a member of The Pensions Trust since March 1994. He has been a Director of the Trustee Board since March 2006. Joe has served as Chair of both the Audit & Compliance and Appeals & Discretions Committees. Joe previously worked in Insurance from 1964 to 1991 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1973
