What did you do before joining The Pensions Trust?

I have worked in IT since 1997 and held IT roles in different companies conducting business in different fields such as Construction, Manufacturing and Chemical. My last role was as Project Consultant for a large Construction Project/Cost Management Company in Leeds.

What attracted you into your role?

I was working as a temporary contractor in IT for the Trust for four months when the permanent position was advertised. Having already worked at the Trust I had the privilege of experiencing the unique working environment and staff, which was the main attraction. The location of the office is also excellent as it’s in the centre of Leeds, close to the cafes, bars and restaurants.

What attracted you to join The Pensions Trust?

The staff are all nice, friendly, enthusiastic and approachable but overall it was a lifestyle choice. The Trust really emphasizes and follows the company values and the work/life balance allows me to actually have a life away from work. The people, benefits, and flexi-time certainly help and I can honestly say I wake up in the morning happy to be going to work.

What has been your career path whilst at The Pensions Trust?

I consulted for the Trust for four months as a member of the IT Infrastructure Team then was successful in achieving a permanent position working for the Business Support Team as IT Network Analyst February 2008.

What training have you been through?

I have attended two technical training courses, the Cisco CCNA and VMWare Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure. In July 2009 I passed my VMWare VCP exam and achieved the world recognised VCP qualification (VMWare Certified Professional).

What do you like about working at The Pensions Trust?

I love the staff, ethos of the company and my actions and opinions are considered and respected. The location is also very beneficial for the meeting and socialising with friends after work. Working at The Pensions Trust definitely suits my lifestyle!
